Since I made the decision to homeschool when the fall comes I’ve been on the hunt for a planner that will help keep my crazy life organized. I looked at a lot of planners and you know what, there are some really pretty planners out there. I’m not going to list the ones I did not choose because who knows maybe I’ll try them some day. But for now, I’m loving my selection.
A good planner for me needed to have the following:
-Homeschool specific and would also help me keep my home life on track, like a 2 for one.
-Weekly view
-Monthly view
-Room for notes or “todo’s”
-It had to be pretty
I settled on The Well Planned Day by The Well Planned Gal

I want to jump right in and tell you how much I love this planner. It has so much more than that my little list of requirements above. I love the fact that there are articles specific to homeschool in each month.

I love that fact that every month there suggestions for reading, field trips and activities that maybe I wasn’t even thinking about, library lists and so much more. I also love that there are areas to make sure you are scheduling in self care for yourself. It’s like they knew what I was going to need before I knew it. I did purchase the accessory bundle and I love it. I didn’t think that I was going to use all of it when I ordered it but I was wrong. I did find myself using the stickers to mark holidays and make special notes. I also use the sticky notes cause they are the perfect size for each day and give me the added space I need for any notes or specific todos.

The planner can be thought of 2 planning categories, Homeschool and Home Management.

This planner has everything I wanted and everything I didn’t realize I needed. They have literally thought of everything and it’s going to help me stay on track for sure. I’ve lived with it now a few weeks and I’m loving it. I find that it’s become my central command station and I just leave it open on the counter to keep me on track.

I do have a few critiques but they are really minor and I still think this planner is totally worth it despite. But this is an FYI.
The Well Planned Day planner focuses on Monday – Friday week day lessons. I’m a working mom so I plan to teach on the weekends because that’s what works best for our work schedules. It would be great if there was another version for working parents that incorporated better weekend planning. There are ways to get around that with this planner but the option would be nice. This planner is packed with content so space is for sure an issue with giving you a full 7 day schedule and I completely understand why this laid out this way. I plan to just schedule my kids work and check things off as it gets done and not necessarily put it on the day that I expect it done. Because I work I do need to build a bit of flexibility into my schedule and that’s just fine.

This has a very limited design selection. It is a pretty planner and it fits my taste but I could see how some people might not dig the overly floral design and would prefer something with a modern look. And with everything going on in the world today, many dads find themselves homeschooling for the first time too. So it would be nice to have a range of design options.
I highly recommend you check out the website because there is scaled down version of the planner, there are also planners for high school kids and lots of homeschool resources in general.
Overall I’m really pleased with this planner and I give 5 stars for sure.
This post is not paid for or sponsored by the Well Planned Gal in any way. I just researched a bunch of planners and this is the one I decided to purchase.
